The Community Meeting is a vital in-person gathering for both individual and organizational members of PCE Europe. It serves as a dedicated space for deep discussion and collaboration that cannot always be achieved in a formal business meeting.
Why do we have it?
While the General Assembly (GA) was historically held in person over several days, these meetings are now held online to ensure they are accessible to as many members as possible and to allow more people to vote on important decisions.
However, moving the GA online meant losing the physical space needed for nuanced, face-to-face dialogue. The Community Meeting was created to fill this gap, providing the "time and space" required to explore developmental topics and the future of PCE Europe in depth.
The topics discussed at the Community Meeting provide the agenda and the proposals for the General Assembly.
What happens at the meeting?
In-Depth Discussion: Members talk about the future of the person-centered and experiential approach in Europe and how to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Planning and Strategy: It is a place to plan the execution of internal changes and develop responses to outside global challenges.
Collaboration: The event is described as a time of "joy, collaboration, and closeness," helping to build a stronger sense of community within the network.
Committee Work: Many new initiatives, such as the Marketing Committee, were originally conceived and developed during these meetings.
Encounter - everyday meeting for participants to share their feelings, reconnect and recharge
Roundtable - a collaborative platform for in-depth discussions on specific subjects, guided by a relevant member of the community—such as a board member, committee member, or an individual particularly passionate about the topic.
Morning meeting - a general, open space for members to gather and discuss the core identity, culture, and values of the PCE Europe community. These meetings provide the necessary time and space to address developmental topics that shape our collective roadmap.
Social event - anopportunity for members to get to know one another better and enjoy time together in an informal setting. By moving away from the formal structures of the General Assembly, these gatherings provide a "balance between serious and fun activities."
